The Star Online • 18 October 2003
PETRA Perdana Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Petra Resources Sdn Bhd (Miri) has been accorded the ISO14001:1996 Environmental Management System (EMS) standards certification for its business operations by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) London.
The group is involved in oil and gas exploration and operation and also provides a total system set-up and support services.
Petra Perdana executive chairman and chief executive officer Tengku Datuk Ibrahim Petra said the standards certification acknowledged the Miri service facility's compliance to environmental management system in all operational aspects of service, manufacturing, contract administration, environment and warehousing.
“By abiding by international benchmarks on EMS, we ensure that our products and services not only meet the requirements of international quality standards but also undergo processes that are internationally recognised,” he said in a statement.
Moreover, Ibrahim said the Miri service facility would be a role model and its EMS standards introduced in stages at all the group's service facilities in the country to ensure improved efficiency and productivity at all level business operations.
“This would further reaffirm the confidence of our customers and business partners in our deliverables,” he added. – Bernama
