| Petronas HSE FORUM, JOHOR BAHRU • July 2002 |

| This is a synopsis of the paper presented at the HSE Forum, highlighting the Group's Health, Safety & Environment protocols... |
The Petra Perdana Group recognizes safety as "good business" and aims to carry out its operations without any incident. The Group strongly advocates safety as a line management function and all employees be given the responsibility of ensuring safety in their workplace.
The Group's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) program was developed to enhance the HSE performance of retrofits, fabrication and maintenance activities, and to instill greater HSE awareness amongst employees and contractors, thus eliminating the possibility of incidents occurring during work processes. |
| |
| The success of the Group's HSE Program is attributed to the close collaboration of its management and technical workforce in planning and executing safety protocols in the workplace. |
| |
| This is achieved by ensuring that only qualified and competent personnel carry out activities. Work areas and equipment must also be safe and hazardous-free, and lastly, maintaining a high safety awareness programme, with proper supervision and motivation for employees, is important. |
| |
Given the framework for structured implementation of safety protocols at all work phases, the management has established benchmarks for operations without any recordable incidents. This includes zero lost time injury, recordable injury, environmental spills, fires or hydrocarbon releases. |
